Ich habe seit über zwei Jahren eine Sharkoon FireGlider (bis zu 3600 dpi). Neben dem Vorteil, eine der günstigsten Lasermäuse (≈ 20 €) auch für größere Gamer-Hände zu sein (sogar mit bestückbaren Ausgleichsgewichten und Ersatz-Kappen für die Unterseite – habe ich beides bisher nicht benötigt), gibt diese sich als Tastatur/Maus aus und hat einen Makrospeicher. Das heißt, ich brauche keinen Maustreiber oder zusätzliche Konfiguration an anderen Rechnern und Betriebssystemen.

Selbst wenn, Wochenende ist lang genug für einen reichlich zweistündigen Kopiervorgang (IMO vorzugsweise eher über USB 1.1 anstatt WLAN, wenn nur das verfügbar ist) in Vorbereitung einer OS-Installation, ihr SSD-verwöhnten Leute.

GNOME 3 auf halbwegs potenten, Openbox/IceWM + Urxvt/Sakura + Firefox auf alten Kisten.- für Desktops: GNOME 3, Unity
- für Desktops ohne ausreichende GPU-Leistung oder einfach als alternatives GUI-Ökosystem: KDE 4
- für schwache Desktops, die aus irgendeinem Grund einen vollständigen Desktop brauchen: Xfce
- für sehr alterschwache Krücken und nicht-interaktive Umgebungen (Server mit Xvnc/Xvfb...), die irgendwie eine einfache GUI brauchen: IceWM, Fluxbox, Openbox/Tint2
So ansatzweise brauchbar sich MATE unter Mint anfühlt, so uneinheitlich ist es in der Bedienung, was wohlgemerkt daran liegt, dass die darunterliegende Distribution sich oft genug wie eine Sammlung von Hacks auf Basis von Ubuntu darstellt. -
Gibts irgendwen, der das vorinstallierte Windows mit der ganzen Adware drauf läßt? Da installiert mandochals erstes ein sauberes drauf.Also ich benutze meine ursprüngliche Toshiba-OEM-Installation an meinem Notebook jetzt schon über zwei Jahre und sie läuft angesichts sämtlichen von mir installierten Ballast (im Moment bin ich gerade wieder dabei, die 25-GB-Marke an freiem Speicherplatz auf der 148 GB großen Systempartition zu unterschreiten) noch angemessen schnell.
Die vorinstallierte Security-Suite-Demo nach Anleitung vom Internet fachgerecht vollständig zu deinstallieren und durch den eigenen zu ersetzen und alle primär unwichtigen OEM-Autostart-Programme zu deaktivieren/deinstallieren war eine einmalige Arbeit von höchstens einer halber Stunde und damit vernachlässigbar gegenüber der sonstigen Einrichtung. -
Mit XML kann man in Javascript im Gegensatz zu JSON nur eklig hantieren.
