Nicht aufgerüstet im klassischen Sinne, eher umgestiegen. Hab meinen hauptsächlich genutzten Rechner gewechselt. Von einem ThinkPad Z61m (Intel Mobile Core Duo T2700, GMA950, 15,4" WXGA (1280x800), 2GB DDR2-SDRAM, 100GB Seagate Momentus 7200.1, Windows Vista SP2 Business x86) zu einem ThinkPad W700ds (Intel Mobile Core 2 Quad Q9100, nVidia QuadroFX 3700M mit 1GB GDDR3-SDRAM, 17" WUXGA (1920x1200) + 10" WXGA (768x1280), 8GB DDR3-SDRAM, 256GB Samsung SSD830 + 320GB WD Scorpio Black, Windows 8 Pro).
Alleine der brachiale Helligkeitsunterschied ist schon schmerzlich. Wenn ich so auf das funzelige Display vom Z61m gugge - da ist man richtig geblendet, wenn man dann wieder auf das helle MaxBright-Display schaut

Hallöchen!
Bei der Testerei mit Windows 8 habe ich festgestellt, dass Kontextmenüs (z. B. bei Rechtsklick aufm Desktop) nicht mehr wie gewohnt vom Mauszeiger aus nach unten rechts aufgehen (bzw. oben rechts, wenn unten zu wenig Platz ist), sondern nach unten links (bzw. oben links). Bei Menüeinträgen (z. B. bei MS Office 2003) ists auch so, aber nicht bei allen Programmen (LibreOffice 4.0 Writer oder Pidgin z. B.).
Ums mal zu verdeutlichen hab ichs mal "fotografiert".

So, ich hab mal etwas umfangreicher gebenchmarkt - auch um mal dem "Mythos" nachzugehen, dass doch ein Pentium III-S unendlich schnell wäre - und der Pentium 4 hingegen tierisch lahm. Es treten dabei an gegen einen Pentium III-S: 4 Pentium 4-Prozessoren von 1,5 bis 1,8GHz, sowie zwei Celeron 4-Prozessoren mit 1,7 bzw. 1,8GHz.
Hardwarekonfiguration Pentium III-S-System: ASUS TUSL2-C (i815EP), 512MB SDRAM PC133
Hardwarekonfiguration Pentium 4-System: ASUS P4T-E (i850), 512MB RDRAM PC800 [Sockel 478]

Abschließend lässt sich sagen: Gegen einen Pentium 4 mit 1,3GHz oder 1,4GHz gewinnt der Pentium III-S 1,4GHz. Bei höher getakteren Pentium 4-Prozessoren gewinnen diese. Selbst ein Celeron 4 1,7GHz ist flotter als der Pentium III-S. Natürlich hängt der Geschwindigkeitsvorteil stark von der verwendeten Software ab - aber das ist ja immer so.
