Ich glaube nicht, bei so Geräten wird die CMOS-Batterie eher irgendwelche NiCD-Zellen sein, Festplatte würd ichs auch nicht drauf anlegen dass es IDE ist. Müsste man schauen. Ich würde aber auch ST506 oder wie das hieß für möglich halten

Daten würde ich da entweder über Diskette (bei kleinen Mengen) oder serielle Verbindung (xmodem oder so) machen. Allerdings weiß ich nicht, welches Terminalprogramm für DOS geeignet ist (mit xmodem o.ä.), und schon garnicht wos das gibt.

Ein leiser Boxed-Kühler wär mal was neues, und die sind grad genug für die entsprechende CPU, übertakten wird damit wahrscheinlich eher kritisch.

Indem der Controller die einzelnen Platten nacheinander anlaufen lässt, kann der Einschaltstrom von größeren Plattenarrays begrenzt werden. Das erlaubt eine effizientere Dimensionierung des Netzteils.
Ich denke damit ließe sich was machen.

Ich würde die Festplatte oder deren Kopie auf der externen an den Win7-Rechner hängen (am besten per (e)SATA), ein Linux (Knoppix oder grml sind DIE Live-CDs) mit NTFS-Unterstützung booten und damit die Daten rüberschaufeln

Was heißt denn normal? Bei den EIA-232-Pfostensteckern gibts over9000 mögliche belegungen, entweder raten oder Skript schreiben dass mit 50 Baud oder so dauernd ein bestimmtes Zeichen sendet und dann mitm Oszi dran.
