compaq war codeveloper für windows 2.0 und hat daher 2.01 als "beta" vorab vor allen anderen OEMs ausliefern können - die haben monate später dann 2.03 bekommen.

also das setup zeigt recht eine bindung an compaq..scheint wirklich eine oem-vorabversion zu sein. mein portable 386 hatte compaq dos 3.31 drauf. zu windows schweigt er sich aus.

ich zweifle nicht daran, dass 2.01 echt ist. ob die geschichte, dass es eigens für compaq's deskpro 386/16 (release august/september 87) als unfertige 2.01 raus gegeben wurde, dahinter echt ist, keine ahnung. naheliegend ist es. 2.03 kam im november 87. der deskpro, als erster 386er, im august/september.

super lahm, war aber auf der hdd. ich werd 3.1 drauf klatschen dann. der pocket ethernet adapter hat eh dos packet treiber und wfw3.11 treiber.

übrigens durch dieses pc magazine raus gefunden: "presentation manager" ist auch die bezeichnung für die GUI von windows 2.x
